The new Big Ten rowing season begins this weekend with the Michigan Wolverines traveling to Florida to face Miami on Saturday in Miami Beach. The Wolverines are the lone conference squad to begin this weekend.
In the coming weeks, the Big Ten's remaining teams will get underway. Michigan State and Minnesota make their 2011 season debuts on March 12 when the Spartans travel to the University of Virginia and the Golden Gophers at Alabama. The following weekend, defending Big Ten Champion Wisconsin, Iowa and Indiana are beginning their season as the Badgers and Hawkeyes travel to the Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas on March 18 and the Hoosiers begin their quest for a conference crown on March 19, traveling to Clemson. Ohio State's first scheduled competition is March 26 against Michigan.
This year's Big Ten Championships will be held May 14 in Indianapolis, Ind., while the NCAA Championships will take place May 27-29 in Sacramento, Calif.
