Rowing Opens 2017 Campaign

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Big Ten rowing opens the 2017 campaign this weekend with Michigan, Michigan State and Minnesota competing in the first meet of the season. The Wolverines and Spartans will travel to Oak Ridge, Tenn., for the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, while the Golden Gophers will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for the Louisville Challenge.

Iowa and Ohio State will open their seasons later this month, while Indiana, Rutgers and Wisconsin will begin in April.

Last season, the Buckeyes won their fourth consecutive Big Ten title, and seventh overall, at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. Ohio State recorded 174 team points on the strength of four first-place finishes.

Following the conference championships, Ohio State went on to finish second at the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Ca. The Buckeyes' first varsity eight claimed an individual boat title at the national championships.

The 2017 Big Ten Rowing Championships are set for May 13-14 in Indianapolis.
