BIG TEN BOAT OF THE WEEK
OHIO STATE FIRST VARSITY EIGHT

Competed Against: No. 1 Princeton, No. 5 Brown

No. 6 Ohio State and its first varsity eight boat opened the 2007 season with a 2.5-second victory over top-ranked Princeton.  The Buckeyes crossed the line in a time of 6:57.4, while the Tigers, the 2006 NCAA Champions in the 1V8 Grand Final, clocked in at 6:59.9.  OSU also defeated the Tigers in the second varsity eight contest and placed second to Brown in both of the eight-man races. Last weekend's competition featured three of the top-five teams from the 2006 NCAA Championships.  Brown finished runner-up to Princeton, while Ohio State placed fifth.
