OHIO STATE FIRST VARSITY EIGHT
The Ohio State first varsity eight squad earned its second-straight Boat of the Week honor after posting its second upset in as many weeks last Saturday against No. 2 Virginia in the ACC/Big Ten Duals. The fourth-ranked Buckeyes clocked in at 6:40.9 to beat the Cavaliers by almost five seconds (6:45.8). Ohio State also defeated Duke in the morning race by 16.9 seconds with a time of 6:42.5. The varsity eight boat is 3-1 this season with two of its wins coming against the then-No. 1 and 2 crews in the nation.
