Michigan State First Varsity Eight

The Michigan State first varsity eight boat claimed this week's Boat of the Week honor after sweeping Boston, Indiana and Gonzaga to win the Dale England Cup last weekend at the Dale England Invitational on Lake Lemon in Bloomington, Ind. The Spartan boat of Laura Cowal, Bree Walkowiak, Michelle Neuder, Kellie Lapointe, Michelle Sosa, Bree Ann Breton, Stephanie Bochenek, Alex Maibusch and coxswain Amanda McGeachie increased its lead throughout each 2,000-meter race over the weekend with a 30-second victory over Gonzaga, 28-seconds over Boston, and 3/4 of a length aganist Indiana. This marks the second time in three seasons the Spartans have captured the Dale England Cup.
