The Hawkeyes' first varsity eight boat ended the week with an impressive victory over George Washington in the chilly waters of the Potomac River in Washington, D.C.  Competing in winter-like conditions with a 20 mph. tailwind and 20 degree windchill, Iowa captured the win with a time of 6:22.1, besting GW (6:22.4) by just three-tenths of a second.  The winning time was the just the second-fastest mark for the Hawkeyes this spring.  Iowa returns to action April 14, traveling to St. Paul, Minn., to compete against Minnesota, Wisconsin, Drake and Oregon State.
