Iowa First Varsity Eight

The Iowa first varsity eight earns the weekly honor after tallying wins over four opponents as part of the George Washington Invitational April 11-12.  To start the event on Friday, the Hawkeye crew posted a win over host George Washington with a time of 6:43.9 to their opponent's 7:04.4.  In Saturday's morning race, the Iowa first varsity eight crossed the line at 6:27.3 beating Georgetown who clocked in at 6:37.9.  To conclude the invite, the crew had its best time of the weekend, finishing in first with a time of 6:19.1, beating both Navy (6:21.7) and Saint Joseph's (6:36.4).  As a team, the entire Hawkeye rowing crew won the women's portion of the Invitational.
