Michigan Second Varsity Eight
Michigan's second varsity eight earned Big Ten Boat of the Week status after going 2-0 over the weekend against No. 11 Ohio State and No. 17 Washington State in Columbus, Ohio. Members included coxswain Taylor Day, Nellie Ruedig, Shannon Stief, Lindsey Healy, Shannon Winchell, Ariel Piotter, Chrissy Holm, Olivia Klipa and Lauren Schneider. In its first race against Washington State, the boat topped the Cougars, posting a time of 6:43.10, the boat's fastest time this season. Against Ohio State, Wolverines finished nearly 10 seconds ahead of the Buckeyes with a time of 6:50.44. This marks the first weekly award for Michigan this season.
