Big Ten Boat of the Week
Minnesota First Varsity Eight
The nationally 16th-ranked Minnesota first varsity eight defeated Kansas on April 25 to earn this week's honor. The Gopher boat won the event with a time of 6:16.70 to race past the Jayhawks who clocked in at 6:44.10. The first varsity eight consists of coxswain Megan Flannery, Laura Jatautaite at stroke, Mary Ann Weinzieri, Jenny Barnes, Ashley Vilmo, Stephanie Bakkum, Lucy Mulvey, Katie Johnson and Lisa Pugh at bow.
