GOLD RIVER, Calif. - Ten Big Ten boats moved on to the NCAA Rowing Championships semifinals after Friday's heats. Michigan and Wisconsin each saw their first and second varsity eight and first varsity four advance to the semifinals. The national semifinals will take place on Saturday, followed by the finals on Sunday.
Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin will compete in the first varsity eight semifinals, while Ohio State will join the same trio of teams in the second varsity eight semifinals. Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin will race in the first varsity four semifinals.
Day 2 of the NCAA Rowing Championships begins at 9 a.m. PT on Saturday.
