Penn State Claims The No. 1 Seed In The 2003 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament

Park Ridge, IL - Penn State, the 2003 Big Ten Conference Champion, is the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament. The Nittany Lions finished with a 9-1 record in League games which earned them 27 points. Penn State matches up with the No. 8 seeded Wisconsin, as the Badgers posted a 4-6-0 record in Conference action, giving them 12 points.

Illinois notched the No. 2 seed in the Tournament with a record of 7-1-2, good for 23 points, and will take on No. 7 Michigan State, who finished with a record of 4-6-0 and 12 points.

Purdue, the No. 3 seed which posted a record of 6-2-2 and earned 20 points, is pitted against in-state rival and No. 6 seed Indiana. The Hoosiers finished Conference action with a 4-5-1 mark, good for 13 points.

Michigan and Ohio State round off the field of eight as the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds, respectively. The Wolverines were 4-2-4 in the Big Ten, earning them 16 points while the Buckeyes finished with a 4-3-3 Conference record and 15 points.

The Big Ten Tournament, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, kicks off on Thursday, Nov. 6. The title game, slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9 will be broadcast live by College Sports Television.
