PARK RIDGE, IL - Penn State edged out Illinois as the favorite to win the Big Ten women's soccer title as voted on by the Conference coaches and announced by the Big Ten office today.

The Nittany Lions are coming off a 2003 season that saw them reach the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship, their ninth post-season appearance in the program's history.  Penn State garnered eight first-place votes, while Illinois ranked second in the poll with three top nods.
