Lauren Hill (Michigan State) and Sylvia Forbes (Purdue) were named co-Offensive Players of the Week and Jenny Bradfisch (Purdue) and Vanessa Ibewuike (Purdue) collected defensive player and freshman of the week honors, respectively, for games played from Aug. 24-30, the conference office announced today. The weekly award marked the third of Hill’s career, while the Boilermaker trio earned the honor for the first time.

Senior Forward - Northville, Mich. – Northville High School
Michigan State senior Lauren Hill posted seven points over the weekend, recording three goals and one assist in the Spartans’ pair of wins over Oakland and Bowling Green. The Northville, Mich., native netted two goals, including the game-winner, and five points in less than 13 minutes of action in MSU’s 4-0 triumph over the Falcons. Hill currently leads the team with three goals on the season. The award marks the third weekly honor of Hill’s career and her first since Sept. of 2008.

Sylvia Forbes, Purdue
Senior Defender - Whitby, Ontario - All Saints Secondary High School
Purdue senior Sylvia Forbes scored on the opening kickoff in Purdue's 3-2 victory at sixth-ranked Texas A&M. Forbes' goal, which was scored when she booted the opening kickoff from midfield into the back of the net, was recorded four seconds into the game and tied the NCAA record for the fastest goal scored to start a game. Forbes also lowered the program record of 22 seconds set by Kim Comisar against Eastern Michigan on Aug. 31, 2003. The goal was the second this season for Forbes and 10th of her career.

Jenny Bradfisch, Purdue
Senior Goalkeeper - Carmel, Ind. – Carmel High School
Purdue senior co-captain Jenny Bradfisch was in goal for all 90 minutes in the Boilermakers' 3-2 win at No. 6 Texas A&M. Bradfisch made a season-high eight saves to help Purdue to victory. The Aggies scored two goals early in the first half, but Bradfisch kept them off the scoreboard for the final 80:38. Texas A&M took 19 shots and had nine corner kicks throughout the game. Purdue's win is the second-biggest upset in program history. The only other defeat of a top-10 team by the Boilermakers came Sept. 9, 2007, when they knocked off top-ranked Portland.

Freshman of the Week:
Vanessa Ibewuike, Purdue
Freshman Forward - Plano, Texas - Plano East High School
Purdue forward Vanessa Ibewuike scored the game-winning goal in the Boilermakers' 3-2 win at No. 6 Texas A&M. The only Texas native on Purdue's roster, Ibewuike ran past an Aggie defender at the top of the penalty box and nailed a shot across the box past the diving goalkeeper and into the back of the net. The goal gave Purdue its second lead of the game and completed the comeback from down 2-1 less than 10 minutes into the game.
