PARK RIDGE, Ill. -Ohio State forward Carla Arbulu and Michigan goalkeeper Madison Gates were named to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week, the publication announced on Wednesday. The accolades are the first for both student-athletes.

Arbulu recorded five points last weekend as the Buckeyes defeated Butler and St. Louis in Columbus. Against the Bulldogs on Friday, the senior notched two assists as OSU went on to win, 3-0. On Sunday, Arbulu tallied a goal and an assist, helping on Lara Dickenmann's game winner in the second overtime period as the Buckeyes downed the Billikens, 3-2.

Gates recorded a career-high 10 saves on Friday as the Wolverines shut out No. 2 Notre Dame in a 0-0 tie, snapping the Fighting Irish's 32-game home winning streak. For her efforts, the junior was named the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
