Offensive Player of the Week
Lara Dickenmann, Ohio State
JR, MF, Kriens, Switzerland/Kantousschule Luzern
Dickenmann has been named Player of the Week after recording a six-point weekend and leading Ohio State to a 2-0 mark. On Friday, the junior scored one of the Buckeyes' two goals against Iowa before returning to the field on Sunday to notch two more against then-No. 10 Illinois in a 2-0 victory. This is the third time this season that Dickenmann has scored in consecutive matches and she currently leads OSU with 17 points and is tied for the team lead in goals with seven. This marks her second career weekly accolade as she was also honored on Oct. 18, 2004.
Defensive PlayerS of the Week
Stacey Van Boxmeer, Indiana
JR, GK, Collingwood, Ontario/Collingwood Collegiate
Van Boxmeer is the second Indiana junior to earn defensive weekly laurels in as many weeks as teammate Jenna Babcock also did so on Oct. 2. The junior goalie lowered her goals against average to 0.54 with her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season last week. In a scoreless tie with Penn State on Sunday, Van Boxmeer managed four saves after notching one against Evansville last Wednesday (Oct. 4). This is her first career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
