Big Ten Women's Soccer Weekly Release

PARK RIDGE, Ill. - Ohio State's Paige Maxwell and Penn State's Krissy Tribbett and Tani Costa have been named the Big Ten women's soccer Players of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. Maxwell receives the nod for Offensive Player of the Week, while Tribbett and Costa earn their first career weekly awards, taking Defensive Player and Freshman of the Week honors, respectively.

Ohio State's Paige Maxwell takes home her second Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season after leading the Buckeyes to back-to-back conference wins on the road over the weekend. The junior tallied a pair of goals, including the game-winning goal, in Ohio State's 3-1 victory over Iowa on Friday. She followed with another game-winner at Northwestern, scoring the lone goal of the match in a 1-0 overtime win. Maxwell has scored six goals in her last five matches and has netted the game-winning goal in each of the last four contests.

Krissy Tribbett posted two solid outings in net for Penn State over the weekend to earn her first career weekly laurel. Tribbett made a save in the Nittany Lions' 2-1 win at Northwestern on Friday before denying five shots and playing 85 scoreless minutes in a 3-0 shutout of Iowa on Sunday. Tribbett's performances helped Penn State improve to 3-1-0 in Big Ten play, moving up to third in the conference standings.

Penn State's Tani Costa earns the first weekly award of her career after having a hand in two of the Nittany Lions' three goals against Iowa on Sunday. Costa assisted on Penn State's second marker of the match before scoring her second goal of the season in the 81st minute.
