Women’s Soccer Offensive Co-Players of the Week
Katie Schoepfer, Penn State

Schoepfer led the Nittany Lions to two victories over the weekend as she took part in every Penn State score. Against No. 23 Minnesota, the junior assisted on two PSU goals in a 2-0 triumph. On Sunday versus Iowa, Schoepfer netted the game’s only score for the 1-0 win. The Waterford, Conn., native earns her first award of the season and the third of her career.

Laurie Nosbusch, Wisconsin

Garnering her first career Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award, Nosbusch piloted Wisconsin to two conference wins over the weekend. Against Michigan, Nosbusch punched in the Badger’s third and final tally for the 3-1 victory, while also adding on an assist. In Wisconsin’s 2-0 win over Michigan State, the forward duplicated her Friday night performance with a score and a helper. Nosbusch leads her team in points (21) and assists (7).

Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Alyssa Naeher, Penn State

Naeher defended the Penn State goal this weekend flawlessly. The junior goalkeeper earned two shutout wins over No. 23 Minnesota and Iowa as the Nittany Lions move to 6-1 in Big Ten games. Naeher recorded nine total saves in the two-game stretch making her save per game mark this season 4.31, which tops the conference. The Seymour, Conn., native takes home her first award of the season and third of her career.
