Northwestern, Ohio State and Penn State have earned Big Ten women’s soccer weekly awards, the conference office announced on Monday. Buckeye forward Tiffany Cameron garners Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Wildcat defender Jackie Alyinovich earns Defensive Player of the Week recognition. Nittany Lion midfielder Mallory Peterson takes home Freshman of the Week laurels. 

Offensive Player of the Week
Tiffany Cameron, Ohio State
F – Sr. – Mississauga, Ontario – St. Joseph’s 

  • Tallied eight points on four goals in the Buckeyes’ victories over No.17 Michigan (3-1) and Michigan State (3-1) last weekend
  • Set Ohio State’s single-season goals record (14) and recorded her eighth game-winning score  
  • The Buckeyes are 12-0-0 when she scores at least one goal this season
  • Last Ohio State Offensive Player of the Week: Lauren Granberg (Oct. 15, 2012)

Defensive Player of the Week
Jackie Alyinovich, Northwestern
D – So. – Burr Ridge, Ill. – Hinsdale South  

  • Guided Northwestern to victories over Illinois (2-1) and Iowa (1-0) last weekend
  • Anchored the Wildcat defense that only allowed one goal through 43 shot attempts in 180 minutes of action
  • Earns the first weekly award of her career
