Women's Soccer Player of the Week

Ella Masar, Illinois

Sr., F, Urbana, Ill./Urbana

Masar provided Illinois with each of its three goals over the weekend notching two victories against Michigan and Michigan State.  The senior forward netted a goal in each half against UM and recorded the only score in the MSU contest.  Masar leads the Illini in scores and total points with 11 and 25, respectively.  She is second all time in Illinois history for game-winning goals in a season and career.  The Urbana, Ill., native garners her fourth career weekly honor.

Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Tara Davies, Penn State

So., D, Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Township

Davies led the tenacious Nittany Lion defense to a shutout over No. 4 Purdue in a 1-0 triumph.  The PSU defense also aided the team in a 2-1 win over No. 28 Indiana.  The sophomore defender smothered PU and IU forwards sending Penn State to the top of the conference leaderboard. The PSU defense now has nine shutouts on the year and only allowing 0.62 goals per game.  The New Jersey native earns her first Big Ten weekly award.
