The 2007 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament bracket is set and was released today by the conference office.  Conference teams closed out their Big Ten schedules Friday.  This year's tournament, hosted by the University of Minnesota, kicks off on Thursday, Nov. 8 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 11. 

Penn State closed out its Big Ten schedule with a 1-0 win at Ohio State on Friday.  PSU enters the tournament with a 9-1-0 conference record and the number one seed.  Squaring off against the Nittany Lions will be No. 8 seed Iowa.  The Hawkeyes triumphed in their final game with a 1-0 victory over Minnesota, sealing their participation in the Big Ten Tournament.

Purdue earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament with a record of 8-1-1 and will match up against seventh-seeded Northwestern, with a conference mark of 4-4-2.

Illinois finished the conference regular season with a 6-3-1 record to earn the No. 3 seed.  The Illini will take the field against a sixth-seeded Minnesota team that posted a 5-5-0 record in conference play.

This year's No. 4 versus No. 5 game will feature Indiana as the fourth seed with a record of 5-4-1 and Ohio State in the fifth spot with a record of 5-5.

The 2007 Big Ten season ended with a tie for fifth place with Ohio State and Minnesota finishing with 5-5-0 league records. The Buckeyes received the No. 5 spot after beating the Gophers in head-to-head competition.

The Big Ten Network and CSTV will televise the 2007 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament, providing television coverage of the semifinals and finals for the first time in conference history. The semifinals will be played Friday at 5 and 8 p.m. CT and will be broadcast by the Big Ten Network on a tape delay basis at Midnight and 2 a.m. CT. The women's semifinals will also re-air on the Big Ten Network on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 7 and 9 a.m. CT. The championship contest will be played on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. CT with the Big Ten Network providing live coverage on either a regional basis or alternate channels. CSTV will also run the championship contest on a tape-delay basis at 5 p.m. CT.
