Ohio State Clinches Share of Big Ten Women's Soccer Championship
Nov. 5, 2010
Ohio State has clinched at least a share of its first Big Ten women's soccer Championship after defeating Michigan State, 1-0, on Friday night in Columbus, Ohio. The win also gives the Buckeyes the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. Paige Maxwell scored the lone goal of the match in the 14th minute to propel Ohio State to the victory, its eighth of the Big Ten season. Ohio State can clinch the Big Ten Championship outright if Michigan defeats Penn State on Sunday or if the teams play to a draw. If the Nittany Lions win, the teams will share the title.
