The No. 1 seed Penn State women's soccer team defeated Bucknell (11-9-1) by a 6-0 tally Friday night in front of 1,085 fans to extend its record to 20-0-1 on the season and take one step closer to an NCAA title. The Michigan State women's soccer team used four second-half goals to defeat Bowling Green, 4-0, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday night at Alumni Field on the campus of Notre Dame. The win propels the Spartans (12-5-5) into the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. Laura Redmond beat the Florida keeper and punched home the golden goal in the 102nd minute as Illinois won a hard-fought NCAA tournament first round game over the 20th-ranked Gators 1-0. The Illini advance to Sunday's second round, where they will play Florida State at noon (CST). FSU downed Florida Atlantic 3-0 in Friday's first game. Full Story

The Wisconsin women's soccer team was defeated by No. 12 Marquette 1-0 Friday in the first round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament. The only score of the game came at 36:46 when Katie Kelly scored off a free kick following a Wisconsin foul. Kelly's shot from the right side was deflected by Murray but the ball had already crossed the endline.Wisconsin finishes the year with a 13-9-2 mark. Full Story
