South Bend, Ind.- The University of Wisconsin women's soccer team was close to holding second-ranked Notre Dame scoreless, but a goal in the 90th minute by the fourth-seeded Fighting Irish was enough to give the Badgers a 1-0 defeat in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Columbus, Ohio- The Ohio State women's soccer team (18-3-3) defeated Detroit (14-8-1, Horizon League), 3-0, Sunday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. With the win, the No. 6-seed Buckeyes advanced to the Round of 16 next week and face No. 11 Tennessee, which downed UAB, 1-0, in its second-round match Sunday in Knoxville, Tenn.

State College, Penn- No. 2 seed Penn State dropped a heart-breaker to Maryland, 1-0, at Jeffrey Field Sunday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Mallory Mahar headed in the gamewinner for the Terps in the 33rd minute and goalkeeper Nikki Resnick helped Maryland hold on for the victory, which snapped a 39-game home win streak at Jeffrey Field.
