Penn State 1, Boston College 0: Second-seeded Penn State (18-4-3) punched its ticket to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Boston College (12-7-3) Sunday afternoon at Jeffrey Field. The Nittany Lions will be making their eighth appearance in the elite eight and will be bidding for their fourth trip to the College Cup.

With the win, Penn State advances to play top-ranked Notre Dame (23-0-1) in South Bend, Ind. in a quarterfinal match-up tentatively scheduled for Fri., Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m. The Lions are 0-1 in their all-time series with the Irish, falling 2-1 at Notre Dame in the 2001 season opener. Full Story

Florida State 1, Illinois 0: Second-seeded and fifth-ranked Florida State scored in the 20th minute and was able to hold the third-seeded and 15th-ranked Fighting Illini to just one shot on goal in their NCAA Tournament Round of 16 match, as the Seminoles made their 1-0 lead stand up in front of an FSU postseason-record crowd of 1,206.
