Player of the Week

Andrea Filler, Northwestern
So., 1B/DP, Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger

• Batted .778, collected seven hits, drove in three runs and scored three runs in helping the Wildcats post a 3-1 record at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz.
• Recorded multiple-hit games in wins over New Mexico, Utah and Boise State
• Reached base in her first 11 at-bats during the tournament, and did not record an out until the final game of the weekend
• For the weekend, posted an .857 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of 1.000 in 14 plate appearances
• Drew three walks and was hit by a pitch in the season opener against nationally-ranked Stanford
• Against New Mexico, went 2-for-2 with a triple in the run-rule win
• In a 12-11 win over Utah, went 3-for-3 from the plate, and started a four-run rally with a leadoff single in the seventh inning
• Finished the weekend going 2-for-4 in the victory over Boise State
• Collects her first career Big Ten Player of the Week honor

Pitcher of the Week

Sara Moulton, Minnesota Sr., RHP, Eagan, Minn./Eagan

• Earned three straight shutout wins en route to Most Valuable Player honors at the Tiger Classic in Baton Rouge, La.
• Helped the Golden Gophers start the season 5-0 for the first time since 2003, including wins over top-20 foe LSU and Oklahoma State
• Fanned 32 batters on the weekend, an average of 10.7 strikeouts per game
• Scattered just eight total hits and walked only four batters in wins over LSU, SIU-Edwardsville and Oklahoma State
• Picked up her 88th career win with 12 strikeouts and zero walks against Oklahoma State, tying pitching coach Piper Ritter for the most all-time at Minnesota
• Wins her ninth career Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honor

• Batted .583 with seven hits and six runs scored in helping Michigan post a 3-1 record at the USF Wilson-Demarini Tournament in Tampa, Fla., including a win over nationally-ranked South Florida
• Hit safely in every game, including a pair of multi-hit efforts against top-five foe Florida and Illinois State
• Tallied an on-base percentage of .615 on the weekend
• Started all four games at second base, accounting for 11 putouts and four assists
• Wins her first career weekly honor
