Big Ten Names Softball Player of the Week

Player of the Week Sam Marder, Ohio State Marder batted .462 with a home run and eight RBI to lead Ohio State to a perfect 5-0 record and championship of the Stetson Lead-Off Classic last weekend in DeLand, Fla. The Calabasas, Calif., native went 6-for-13 at the plate with a double, a .769 slugging percentage and a .529 on-base percentage. Marder had two game-winning RBI and the game-tying RBI in extra-innings of the championship game against host Stetson. This is her second career weekly accolade. Kim Reeder, Ohio State Reeder went 2-0 with a 0.44 ERA to lead Ohio State to a 5-0 record and championship of the Stetson Lead-Off Classic last weekend in DeLand, Fla. Reeder got the ball in the Buckeyes' season opener, a 2-0 win over Detroit, in which she went all nine innings and struck out eight in her first career one-hitter. On Saturday night against host Stetson, Reeder went all seven innings, striking out five and allowing only one earned run in the seventh inning.
