Big Ten Player of the Week
Andrea Hillsey, Purdue
SR, 2B, White Lake, Mich./Waterford-Kettering
Hillsey dominated the competition in her first weekend back after suffering a season-ending ACL injury a year ago, while leading Purdue to its first 3-0 start in program history. She opened with a two-run home run in her first at-bat of the season, supplying the game-winning runs in a 2-1 victory over Kansas at the Hilton Las Cruces Classic. Hillsey followed with a 3-for-4 performance against Utah Valley State, including an RBI double. She finished the weekend posting a .750 average, tallying nine hits, seven runs and three RBI to be named to the All-Tournament team.

Big Ten Pitcher of the Week
Diana LaRiva, Purdue
JR, RHP, Tustin, Calif./Tustin
LaRiva kicked off the 2005 campaign by tossing the first perfect game in Purdue history to collect Pitcher of the Week accolades. The Tustin, Calif. native struck out 11 of the 15 batters she faced and allowed only one ball out of the infield against UMKC. She finished the weekend giving up only one earned run for a 0.72 ERA in 9.2 innings of work, while striking out a total of 17 batters. LaRiva claims her first career weekly Conference laurel and is the first Purdue player to be named Pitcher of the Week since teammate Brooke Baker on March 29, 2004.
