Player of the Week

Weigle finished the weekend with a 10-for-15 effort at the plate (.667), including four triples and two home runs at the Hampton Inn Bama Bash. In four starts, she also added eight runs and a team-high nine RBI en route to All-Tournament accolades. Weigle led the Spartans to a 4-for-5 performance in the Spartans' fifth-consecutive opening victory on Friday against Toledo. Her six RBI versus the Rockets tied the second-highest single-game total in MSU history, while her two triples tied the school's single-game mark. The Naples, Fla., native picks up her first Player of the Week accolade.

Wilson earned her second consecutive Pitcher of the Week accolade after claiming three victories at the FAU Dunkin' Donut Classic last weekend. In the championship game against Maryland, Wilson matched a season-best 13 strikeouts while allowing just one hit in a complete-game victory. With the performance, she brought her career strikeout total to 447 and climbed into the fifth spot among the Wolverines' all-time strikeout leaders. The Salem, Ore., native picks up her sixth Big Ten weekly accolade as she was also honored last week (Feb. 13, 2007),  three times in 2005 (Feb. 22, March 21 and April 11) and once last season (March 27, 2006).
