Northwestern and Purdue Earn Weekly Conference Accolades

Player of the Week:
Allard wins her second career Player of the Week accolade after batting .588 in five games for Northwestern last week. The sophomore finished the week with a trio of three-hit games and was a perfect 6-for-6 on the base paths. Allard was 10-of-17 from the plate at the Cathedral City Classic, including 6-for-8 against No. 2 UCLA and No. 24 Texas A&M. She swiped four of her six bases in the tournament opener against Nevada, equaling her own school record, and scored four runs during the tournament as Northwestern went 3-2 last week.

Pitcher of the Week:
Rzegocki wins Pitcher of the Week honors for first time in 2011 and the third time overall after earning the win in all four Purdue contests last week. The senior posted two complete game shutouts and allowed just three earned runs in 23 innings of work, an 0.91 earned run average. After scoreless outings against Tennessee State and Mississippi State, Rzegocki brought her career shutouts total to 24, setting a new Purdue standard. She struck out 19 batters and walked four to help Purdue sweep its first tournament weekend since 2008.

Freshman of the Week:
McMillan picks up her first conference Freshman of the Week honor after posting a .583 batting average, a home run and two doubles for Purdue at the Phyllis Rafter Memorial Tournament last week. The freshman was 7-of-12 from the plate, scored six runs and drove in four more to help the Boilermakers to a 4-0 record last week. She hit her first collegiate home run in the tournament opener against Georgia State before going 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored against Tennessee State.
