Michigan State's Lindsey Hansen recorded a .667 batting average in two games at the Magic City Classic last week. She led the Spartans in a 10-2 win over Northern Illinois in five innings and a 13-6 victory over Samford, going 4-for-6 at the plate. Hansen scored five runs and notched a team-high five RBIs. She also tallied a triple and two home runs in the wins. In the first game against Northern Illinois, Hansen hit a homer in the second inning to help MSU to an early 8-0 lead. She continued her success in the second game of the day, hitting her team-leading fifth home run of the season in the sixth inning to lead the Spartans in a win over Samford. Hansen posted a .750 on-base percentage, six putouts, three assists and was one-for-one in stolen bases. She also led the Spartan infield, turning two double plays. Hansen has a .317 batting average on the season, recording a team-high five home runs and 34 total bases. She is also 3-for-3 in stolen bases and leads the team with .829 slugging percentage.

Ohio State's Kim Reeder earned her seventh and eighth wins this season over the weekend at the NFCA Leadoff Classic. The senior pitcher threw two complete games, shutting out both Mississippi State and Illinois State to drop her ERA to 0.90 on the season. A native of Salinas, Calif., Reeder is 8-2 on the season in 12 appearances over 62.0 innings pitched. She has struck out a toal of 74 batters, including 19 in two games this weekend, and has allowed just three homeruns on the year. This is Reeder's second weekly laurel of the season, and fourth overall.
