Big Ten Player of the Week
Tammy Williams, Northwestern

Williams claims her first-ever Player of the Week accolade after registering a breakout weekend at the Worth Invitational, leading the Wildcats with a .643 batting average (9-of-14), eight runs scored, a 1.143 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage. She had at least two hits in all four contests, while hitting safely as the leadoff batter in all four games. She began the weekend going 2-for-4 with two runs scored against Cal State Fullerton before swatting her first career home run against No. 3 Tennessee. She then led off against Stanford with her second homer of the day. Williams concluded the weekend, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, an RBI and two steals in a 7-0 win over Texas Tech.

Ritter was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week after posting a 4-0 record with one save, while tallying a 0.50 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 28 innings. Ritter allowed just eight hits with all of her runs allowed coming in the first game of the week against Georgia. Ritter had three double-digit strikeout games in four of her starts, tying a personal best with 16 strikeouts against Florida State. She also fanned 12 batters against No. 17 Auburn and 11 versus No. 13 Georgia. In the Sunshine State Tournament championship game, Ritter threw a no-hitter through five innings against Florida State, striking out 10 of the first 11 batters she faced before giving up a lone single in the fourth.
