Andrea Hillsey, Purdue

Hillsey posted a .471 batting average (8-for-17), tallying at least one hit in five of the team's six contests last week at the Speedline Invitational. The senior second baseman accounted for four RBI and two runs, while recording five extra base hits. Hillsey scored the game-capping run in Purdue's 4-1 win over Oklahoma State with a sixth-inning solo shot, while posting a 3-for-3 performance at the plate. The White Lake, Mich. native went 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run, a triple and two RBI in the tournament finale against UCF. Hillsey also posted a 1.059 slugging percentage and a .526 on-base percentage for the weekend.
Pitcher of the Week
Diana LaRiva, Purdue
JR, P, Tustin, Calif./Tustin
LaRiva posted a 0.98 ERA and struck out 18 batters in 14 innings of work at the Speedline Invitational. The Tustin, Calif. native struck out 10 batters in a complete game effort against Hofstra. She then threw two innings of relief, allowing just one hit against BYU. LaRiva finished the weekend, giving no hits in five innings to lead the Boilermakers to a 2-1 victory over UCF in the tournament finale. She also held her opponents to a .157 batting average.
