Angelena Mexicano, Illinois
Jr., SS, San Jose, Calif./Mt. Pleasant
Mexicano earns Co-Player of the Week laurels after hitting 11-for-19 (.579) with four home runs, four doubles, six RBI and nine runs at the Capital Classic last week. She tallied back-to-back home runs against Pittsburgh and Idaho State. She followed with another solid performance, hitting 4-for-4 with two home runs and one double against Sacramento State. Mexicano closed out the weekend by notching a 1.421 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .579.

Tammy Williams, Northwestern
So., SS, Roscoe, Mo./Osceola

Williams batted a combined 10-for-14 (.714) with 11 runs scored and drove in five runs with two home runs and a double last weekend at the Tiger Invitational. Against Western Illinois, she notched three runs and scored three times before tallying three hits and and three runs in wins over Missouri and Columbia College. In the final game of the tournament, Williams was a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a sacrifice fly.

Pitcher of the Week
Eileen Canney, Northwestern
Sr., P, Paradise, Calif./Paradise

Canney threw a pair of one-hit shutouts this weekend at the Tiger Invitational, giving her 33 shutouts for her career to tie her for third in Northwestern history. She also struck out 21 batters in just 11 innings of work during two run-rule shortened NU wins. Against Western Illinois, the senior tallied 12 strikeouts for the 9-0 win. Canney then struck out nine in five innings of work, allowing only a bunt single in the third inning.
