Co-Players of the Week
Watkins earns her first Big Ten Player of the Week accolade after batting .857 in the Hawkeyes' weekend series with Michigan State. The sophomore finished the series 6-for-7 at the plate with one home run, two doubles, two runs, and three RBI in Iowa's two-game sweep over the Spartans. Watkins was 2-of-3 on Saturday before turning in a 4-for-4 outing on Sunday, which included the game-winning RBI in the sixth. She recorded an .875 on base percentage and a 1.571 slugging percentage on the weekend, good for an OPS of 2.446.

Emily Allard, Northwestern
Allard wins her first career Big Ten Player of the Week honor, the second time a Wildcat has won the award this season. The shortstop finished the past week with four multi-hit games, batting .643 with nine hits, nine runs scored and five RBI and was a perfect 8-for-8 on the base paths. Allard was impressive in her Big Ten debut against Purdue, going 4-of-6 from the plate with three runs scored and four stolen bags as the Wildcats won twice against the Boilermakers. She opened the week 5-for-8 from the plate against SIU-Edwardsville and Northern Illinois, scoring six runs and knocking in four more as Northwestern finished the week 4-0.

Alicia Herron, Ohio State
Herron wins her first Big Ten Player of the Week honor of the season and the second of her career after hitting .588 last week, including a .833 mark against Big Ten competition. In games against South Florida, Cornell and Central Florida, Herron was 5-for-11 from the dish with four runs scored. In the Big Ten opener against Wisconsin, the sophomore was nearly perfect from the plate, going 5-for-6. With a home run, a double, four RBI and three runs scored in the finale, she brought her weekly totals to 10 hits in 17 at bats, one home run, seven runs scored, five RBI, a stolen base and an .824 slugging percentage, which rose to 1.500 against Big Ten competition.

Pitcher of the Week
Akamine was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week for the first time in her career on Monday following a 2-0 record last week for Penn State. The right-hander earned wins against St. Francis (Pa.) on Wednesday, then against Minnesota on Sunday. In Wednesday's second game against St. Francis, Akamine pitched six shutout innings, surrendering three hits and striking out seven in an 8-0 win. In Sunday's second game against Minnesota, the sophomore allowed two earned runs on four hits, but struck out nine in a complete-game win. She also appeared in Wednesday's first game against St. Francis, sitting down seven with just two hits in 5.1 innings of relief, finishing the week with a 0.76 ERA and 23 strikeouts.
