Hollie Pinchback, Illinois

Hollie Pinchback slugged an astounding 1.222 while reaching base at a .667 clip during Illinois’ three-game stretch last week. Pinchback led the Illini offense on Saturday, belting her first career grand slam and crossing the plate three times as Illinois exploded to a 13-3 victory over Michigan State. With the win, Illinois improved to its best conference start ever at 3-0. Overall, the Katy, Texas native went 5-for-9 (.556) with four runs and six RBI while recording at least one run in each game, including a second homer against No. 23 Depaul.

Pitcher of the Week:
Lauren Delaney, Northwestern
P - Jr. - Jefferson City, Mo. – Helias
Lauren Delaney went a perfect 3-0 last week, throwing every pitch in Northwestern’s win at Maryland and in the Wildcats’ series sweep at Penn State. Delaney first struck out 11 Terrapins in a mid-week nonconference victory, and then bested the Nittany Lions twice, hurling a two-hit shutout in Game 2 on Saturday. Overall, she threw 19.0 innings, scattering 13 hits while allowing just three earned runs. The junior has thrown all but 10 innings for Northwestern in 2009, pitching the Wildcats into the top-10 in the nation and to the top of the Big Ten standings so far this season.
