Hailey Decker, Nebraska
So., 2B, Keizer, Ore./McNary 

  • Batted .600 with seven hits, four RBI, seven runs scored and two home runs in leading Nebraska to three run-ruled victories last week, including a series win at nationally ranked Northwestern
  • In the three games against the Wildcats, batted .636 (7-of-11), tallied an on-base percentage of .625 and posted a slugging percentage of 1.267
  • In a non-conference game against Nebraska-Omaha, collected her first-career grand slam en route to six RBI in the Huskers’ 10-0 win
  • Tallied a double and a home run and drove in both runs in the series-opening loss against Northwestern
  • Collected three hits, scored a single-game school-record four runs and stole one base in game two of the Northwestern series, a 13-3 Husker win
  • Hit another home run and tallied a pair of RBI in the rubber match against the Wildcats
  • Collects her first career Big Ten Player of the Week honor

  • Picked up two complete game wins to help the Hawkeyes win a Big Ten road series at Wisconsin
  • In 14.0 innings of work, struck out 13 batters and held the Badgers’ lineup to a .264 batting average
  • Allowed just one earned run in the two outings, producing a weekly ERA of 1.00
  • Wins her second career Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honor

Co-Freshmen of the Week
Sara Groenewegen, Minnesota
RHP/INF, White Rock, B.C./Elgin Park Secondary 

  • Recorded a standout week both at the plate and in the circle in leading the Gophers to a three-game sweep of Illinois
  • Posted a .429 batting average and .556 on-base percentage with three hits, three runs scored and a pair of home runs
  • Picked up a complete-game shutout victory in game two of the series, striking out 10 Illini batters
  • Hit solo home runs in both the first and second games of the series
  • In the series finale, recorded a double and drew a walk to help the Gophers improve to 27-4 on the season, the best start in program history
  • Earns her first Freshman of the Week honor

  • In the decisive rubber match against the Spartans, posted a pair of hits, including a double, and scored two runs
