Conference action enters its third weekend of play with Purdue boasting the Big Ten's only unblemished record in conference play. The 6-0 Boilermakers take their undefeated record on the road against in-state rival Indiana for a three-game set this weekend. Elsewhere in conference play, Minnesota travels to Wisconsin, Michigan takes on Ohio State in Columbus, Illinois heads to Nebraska, Iowa visits Northwestern and Michigan State takes on Penn State.

In the second RPI report of the 2012 season released by the NCAA, the Big Ten is second among all conferences with 10 teams appearing in the top 100, joining the SEC as the only two conferences that can make such a claim.

In addition, four conference teams are receiving votes in one or both national rankings this week. Michigan appears at No. 20 in both the NFCA and USA Softball rankings, Minnesota is receiving votes in the USA Softball ranks, while Iowa and Purdue are receiving votes outside the NFCA top 25.

Boasting the most nationally distributed softball games of any conference, the Big Ten is scheduled to have 11 contests televised or streamed to a national audience this week, part of nearly 100 scheduled softball broadcasts this season on BTN or BTN.com.
