Player of the Week Polito claims Player of the Week laurels after leading the Badgers to wins over Illinois-Chicago and Iowa last week. She tallied a .875 batting average (7-for-8), while notching six runs, three RBI and a 1.125 slugging percentage for the week. In conference play, Polito registered a two-run triple to claim a 5-0 shutout over Iowa. She followed with a 2-for-2 effort to give the Badgers a 4-1 victory and their first sweep over the Hawkeyes in school history. Polito, who now has 10 hits in her last 14 at bats and is hitting .344 this season, is the second Badger this year to earn Player of the Week accolades as teammate Katie Hnatyk was honored on Feb. 27. Pitcher of the Week Delaney remains perfect on the season at 15-0 while guiding the Wildcats to two victories and tallying a 0.50 ERA last week. The freshman hurler held Northern Illinois to one unearned run with seven strikeouts in a 6-1 decision. Delaney then allowed just one run while striking out 10 in a 5-1 victory over Indiana. For the week, she fanned 17 batters, while giving up only five hits in 14 innings of work. Delaney picks up her second weekly accolade as she was also honored on Feb. 13.
