Player of the Week:
Katrina Ross, Illinois
Senior Designated Player
Graham, Wash. – Rogers
Katrina Ross was clutch this weekend in Illinois' sweep of No. 11 Northwestern, delivering the walk-off home run in Saturday's contest and going deep again in the finale on Sunday. Ross batted .500 (3-for-6), slugged 1.500 and drove in five runs during the two-game stretch. In the series-opener, the Graham, Wash., native showed patience at the plate in drawing a bases-loaded walk, then demonstrated her power as she launched the two-run, game-winning homer in the bottom of the seventh. Game two featured more of Ross' power, as her sacrifice fly helped the Illini cut into Northwestern's lead before her seventh long-ball of the season gave the Orange and Blue a one-run lead in the fifth.
