Heading into the final week of the conference season, Michigan (17-3) remains alone atop the Big Ten standings and controls its own destiny in the Big Ten Championship race. Nebraska sits in second place with a 14-4 Big Ten record, Minnesota (14-5) is in third place and Wisconsin is currently in fourth place with a 12-5 conference record.
In the latest national polls, three Big Ten teams appeared among the top 25 in both the USA Softball and NFCA Coaches polls. In the USA Softball ballot, Michigan was ranked No. 6, followed by No. 14 Minnesota and No. 19 Nebraska. Wisconsin and Northwestern also received votes in the poll. The coaches' poll ranked Michigan No. 7, followed by No. 12 Minnesota and No. 19 Nebraska, with Northwestern and Wisconsin also receiving votes.
According to the latest NCAA Softball RPI ratings, five Big Ten teams are rated among the top 50 in the nation, including three in the top 20. Michigan leads the way at No. 15, followed by No. 18 Minnesota and No. 19 Nebraska. Northwestern checks in at No. 36 and Wisconsin is ranked No. 46.
