Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin Earn Weekly Big Ten Honors

Player of the Week Krueger claims Player of the Week accolades for the first time this season after finishing with three multi-hit games last week, resulting in a .636 (7-for-11) batting average. In a series sweep of Iowa, the first in program history, the senior was a combined 5-for-7 from the plate, scoring twice and stealing a base in the doubleheader. In the series opener against No. 2 Michigan, Krueger was 2-for-2 with a run scored, also plating the Badgers' only run in the finale. Last Wisconsin Player of the Week: Samantha Polito (April 9, 2007) Co-Pitcher of the Week Melloh threw four complete games to lead Indiana to four Big Ten wins in last week. The senior surrendered just two runs in 27 innings of work, good for a 0.52 ERA on the week, while striking out 44. In Thursday's wins against Illinois, Melloh combined for 21 strikeouts and scatted just four hits in the doubleheader sweep. Over the weekend against Iowa, she pitched 14 innings of three-hit, one-run ball, fanning 25 while walking five. The weekly honor is the fourth in Melloh's career. Last Indiana Pitcher of the Week: Morgan Melloh (April 18, 2011) Jordan Taylor, Michigan Taylor won both games for Michigan last week, allowing just one run in 11.2 innings of work to win Pitcher of the Week honors for the fourth time this season. In five innings against Wisconsin on Saturday, the senior allowed just one run on three hits while striking out 10 in a 9-1 victory. To complete the series sweep on Sunday, Taylor came on in relief to pitch 6.2 innings of shutout ball in which she struck out 11 with zero walks as Michigan came from behind to secure a 2-1 win.
Last Michigan Pitcher of the Week: Jordan Taylor (March 21, 2011) Freshman of the Week Doyle wins her first Freshman of the Week honor after batting .833 and helping Michigan sweep Wisconsin last weekend. She went 5-for-6 from the plate out of the No. 9 spot, scoring two runs in the weekend series. With two hits and a run scored in Saturday's opener, the freshman followed with a 3-for-3 performance in the finale, scoring the game-tying run in the Wolverines' 2-1 win over the Badgers.
