• Michigan is the No. 1 seed for this week's Big Ten Tournament after winning its 20th conference title and 10th in the past 11 seasons. Wisconsin is the host institution for the tournament, which features a single-elimination format and begins Thursday, continuing through Saturday night's championship game, with every game played at Goodman Diamond in Madison, Wisconsin. The tournament champion will receive the Big Ten Conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, with the NCAA field announced Sunday (10 p.m. ET on ESPN2).

• BTN will provide live coverage of the entire 2018 Big Ten Softball Tournament, televising all 11 games live on the linear network, as well as through the BTN2Go platform, which is available online (btn2go.com) and through the BTN2Go app.

• Minnesota is the two-time defending Big Ten Tournament champion, winning its third title in four years with a 6-0 win over Ohio State in last year's championship game. Michigan lead the Big Ten with nine tournament titles, most recently hoisting the hardware in 2015.

• Wisconsin is playing host to the Big Ten Softball Tournament for the first time, becoming the seventh different school to earn that distinction in the 21-year history of the tournament. Michigan has hosted the event 10 times (most recently in 2017), with Iowa and Northwestern each hosting three times previously, Ohio State twice and both Nebraska and Penn State on one occasion.

• According to the final regular-season NCAA Softball RPI ratings released on Monday, seven Big Ten schools are among the top 60 in the nation -- Ohio State (27), Minnesota (28), Michigan (30), Northwestern (38), Nebraska (40), Wisconsin (46) and Illinois (58).

• Michigan is ranked No. 12 in this week's ESPN.com/USA Softball poll and No. 16 in the current USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll. Minnesota is ranked No. 23 and Ohio State is No. 25 in the USA Softball poll, with both schools also the top two programs receiving votes in the NFCA poll.

• Michigan freshman pitcher Meghan Beaubien is among 10 finalists for the USA Softball National Player of the Year, it was announced Wednesday. Beaubien, who was also named the Big Ten Pitcher and Freshman of the Year earlier in the day, is one of only three freshmen to be named a USA Softball Player of the Year finalist, with the most recent Big Ten student to earn the prestigious award being Michigan's Sierra Romero in 2016.

UPDATE: Big Ten Softball Tournament Championship Game Moved To Sunday

The 2018 Big Ten Conference Softball Tournament championship game between Minnesota and Northwestern, scheduled to be played Saturday night, has been postponed due to severe weather and numerous associated delays. The game has been rescheduled to 10 a.m. (CT) Sunday and will be televised live on the Big Ten Network, as well as BTN2Go and the BTN2Go app, from the University of Wisconsin’s Goodman Diamond in Madison, Wisconsin.

Minnesota is the two-time defending Big Ten Tournament champion and advanced to the title game for the fifth time in six seasons with a 9-4 win over Indiana in Saturday’s first semifinal. Northwestern earned its first trip to the Big Ten championship game since 2008 with an 11-0, five-inning victory over Michigan State in Saturday’s second semifinal, highlighted by Morgan Newport’s no-hitter, the second in Big Ten Tournament history.
