Championship Game of Big Ten Softball Tournament Will Air Live on CSTV

Park Ridge, IL - The Conference office announced today that the championship game of the 2005 Big Ten Softball Tournament on Saturday, May 14, will now appear live on College Sports Television (CSTV) at Noon EST. The game was originally scheduled to start at 1 p.m. EST for a tape-delayed broadcast on CSTV.

The 2005 Big Ten Tournament is set to begin on Thursday, May 12 at Alumni Field in Ann Arbor, Mich. Michigan (15-2) clinched the No. 1 seed and its 10th Conference regular season title on the final day of Big Ten play on Sunday after defeating Northwestern, 8-7. The Wildcats (15-3), earning the No. 2 seed, will open tourney play on Thursday at 5 p.m., when they face off against No. 7 Purdue (10-10). The Wolverines will then take on No. 8 Michigan State (7-9), the reigning Big Ten Tournament champion, at 7:30 p.m. Last year, the Spartans claimed their first-ever Big Ten Tournament crown after defeating Illinois, 1-0, in the championship game.

No. 3 seeded Iowa (12-6) battles No. 6 Penn State on Friday, May 13 at noon, while the second game of the day will feature No. 4 Ohio State (9-7) taking on No. 5 seeded Wisconsin (11-9) at 2:30 p.m.
