Michigan’s Season Concludes With 4-1 Loss to Washington

A four-run sixth inning gave Washington a 4-1 victory over Michigan on Sunday afternoon, bringing the Wolverines’ season to a close. The Wolverines carried a 1-0 lead into the sixth before the Huskie offense combined for four scores in the next half inning. Michigan ends the season with a 51-13 mark and claimed their sixth straight Big Ten Championship.

Michigan Takes On Washington in Elimination Game Sunday afternoon

Michigan will compete in its second elimination game in less than 24 hours when it takes on Washington at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon on ESPN. The Wolverines knocked out Arizona State late Saturday night to advance to Sunday. The Michigan-Washington winner will advance to take on Oklahoma at approximately 9:30 p.m. later tonight.


Michigan Defeats Arizona State, 2-0 at Women’s College World Series

With first pitch at roughly Midnight local time, Michigan posted a 2-0 victory over Arizona State on Saturday night to advance through the double elimination portion of the Women’s College World Series. The Wolverines advance to face Washington at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Nebraska Falls in 15 Innings to Florida

Nebraska generated eight runs on 14 hits but fell short against Florida, 9-8, in 15 innings, which tied for the fourth-longest game in Women's College World Series History. Six Huskers recorded at least two hits in the game, led by Taylor Edwards with three.

Michigan, Nebraska Resume Play at Women’s College World Series Tonight

Severe storms forced the postponement of Friday’s contests and the rescheduling of Saturday’s Women’s College World Series lineup. Nebraska is set to take on Florida at 7 p.m. ET, while Michigan will square off with Arizona State at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night, with both games televised on ESPN. Winners will advance to Sunday, while the losers will be eliminated from the postseason competition.


Michigan Falls in Women's College World Series Opener to Oklahoma, 7-1

Michigan scored the game's first run in the top of the third inning, but was unable to generate any more offense as Oklahoma posted a 7-1 victory in the final game of the first day of the Women's College World Series. Sierra Lawrence scored the game's first run after coming around after a pair of fielder's choices, but the Sooners answered with four in the bottom half before adding three more in the latter stages of the game. Michigan will take on Arizona State at approximately 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Huskers Drop Game 1 of Women's College World Series, 4-3, To Washington

An eighth-inning home run gave Washington a 4-3 victory over Nebraska in the opening game of the Women's College World Series on Thursday. The Huskers held a late 3-2 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Huskies scraped across a run to force extras. Nebraska pitchers Tatum Edwards and Emily Lockman combined to allow just three hits, but two were for home runs. Nebraska will play Florida on Saturday at Noon ET.

Michigan, Nebraska Open Play at 2013 Women's College World Series

Michigan and Nebraska help kickoff the opening day of the 2013 Women's College World Series on Thursday. The Huskers take part in the opening game of the national final, squaring off with Washington at Noon ET, while the Wolverines will face Oklahoma in the day's final game at approximately 9:30 p.m. ET. Both games will be televised live by ESPN2.


Nebraska Earns Berth in Women's College World Series

Nebraska heads to its seventh NCAA Women's College World Series after defeating Oregon on Sunday, 4-2, to win the best-of-three Oregon Super Regional in the decisive third game. The Huskers will make their first appearance in the national final since 2002. Nebraska will take on Washington in its opening game of the Women's College World Series on Thursday.

Nebraska's berth in the Women's College World Series comes a day after Michigan cemented its spot in Oklahoma City after winning the Michigan Super Regional on Saturday. It marks the first time two Big Ten teams have advanced to the eight-team field of the Women's College World Series in the same season since Michigan and Iowa accomplished the feat in 2001.

Nebraska freshman Emily Lockman earned the win in the circle in the deciding game, allowing just two earned runs. With the score tied, 2-2, after the first inning, the Huskers added runs in the third and sixth innings to complete the scoring.

Nebraska Falls in Extra Innings in Game 2 of Oregon Super Regional

Nebraska fell in the second game of the Oregon Super Regional on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 4-3 contest in 11 innings to the third-seeded Oregon Ducks. Oregon scored twice in the sixth and seventh innings to tie the game, 3-3, then eventually scored the game-winning run in the top of the 11th inning. The Huskers return to the diamond on Saturday night in a winner-take-all third game of the Oregon Super Regional.


Huskers Seeking Women's College World Series Berth

The 14th-seeded Huskers are one victory away from clinching the best-of-three Super Regional over Oregon and joining Michigan in the Women's College World Series. The second game of the series is set for 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, which will be televised on ESPNU, with the if necessary third game slated for 6 p.m. Nebraska seeks its seventh appearance in the Women's College World Series and first since 2002.


Nebraska Takes Opening Game of Oregon Super Regional With 5-2 Win Over Oregon

The 14th-seeded Nebraska softball team grabbed a 1-0 lead in its best-of-three NCAA Super Regional with No. 3 Oregon, as the Huskers moved within one victory of a Women's College World Series berth with a 5-2 victory over the Ducks at Howe Field on Saturday night. Nebraska earned its first-ever super regional victory behind an excellent outing from Tatum Edwards and a fifth-inning grand slam from Brooke Thomason. With the win, the Huskers snapped Oregon's nation-leading 24-game home winning streak that dated back to last spring.

Michigan Heads to Women's College World Series With Super Regional Title

Eighth-seeded Michigan defeated Louisiana-Lafayette, 2-1, in the decisive third game of the Ann Arbor Super Regional on Saturday afternoon to earn a spot in the 2013 Women's College World Series. The Wolverines will make their 10th appearance in the national final, which begins on Thursday. Michigan will open the double-elimination round against top-seeded Oklahoma.

A day after belting a walk-off home run to give Michigan a victory in the series opener, Ashley Lane doubled home a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to propel the Wolverines to the victory. Sara Driesenga earned the win in the circle for Michigan, holding the Ragin' Cajuns to just four hits while striking out seven. The Wolverines will carry a 50-11 mark into next week's Women's College World Series.

Lane's Walkoff Home Run Sends Michigan to Game 1 Win

Ashley Lane hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning, sending Michigan to a 4-3 victory and 1-0 series lead over Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday afternoon in the Ann Arbor Super Regional. After falling behind, 3-2, entering the bottom half, Michigan's Caitlin Blanchard was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, before Lane stepped to the plate for the game-winning heroics. The Wolverines carried a 2-0 lead into the top of the seventh before the Ragin' Cajun's tied to the contest to force extra innings.

Gameday at the Ann Arbor Super Regional

Michigan, the No. 8 national seed, gets set to open the Ann Arbor Super Regional this afternoon against Louisiana-Lafayette at 2 p.m. ET on ESPNU. The best-of-three series continues Saturday, beginning at Noon, with the if-necessary Game 3 schedule for 3 p.m. Nebraska will open its best-of-three set in Oregon on Saturday night.


Times and Television Determined For Michigan, Nebraska Super Regionals

The ESPN family of networks will televise each game of the Ann Arbor and Eugene Super Regionals this weekend, as Michigan and Nebraska eye berths in the Women's College World Series.

The eighth-seeded Wolverines host Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday and Saturday, with the series opener scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on ESPNU. Saturday's first game is set for Noon and first pitch of the `if necessary' third game is 3 p.m. on ESPN.

No. 14 Nebraska travels to third-seeded Oregon for a best-of-three Super Regional on Saturday and Sunday, with all games televised by ESPNU. Saturday's series opener is slated for 8 p.m., while Sunday's contests will begin at 2 p.m. with Game 3, if necessary, scheduled for 5 p.m.


Nebraska Claims Lincoln Regional Title; Joins Michigan in Super Regional Round

The 14th-seeded Nebraska softball team fought through three weather delays and a tough 13th-ranked Stanford squad to win its first regional championship since 2002 with a 10-5 victory over the Cardinal in the NCAA Lincoln Regional championship game on Sunday. With the win, Nebraska (43-13) advanced to the first Super Regional in school and won its seventh NCAA regional title. The Huskers will face No. 3 seed Oregon on the road in the Eugene Super Regional.

Nebraska joins Michigan in the Super Regional round, which will begin next weekend, with times and dates to be announced.

Michigan Advances To Super Regional After 3-1 Win Over California

Michigan advanced to host Super Regional action after defeating California, 3-1, in Sunday's Ann Arbor Regional final. The eighth-seeded Wolverines will host Louisiana-Lafayette next weekend, who defeated ninth-seeded LSU in the Baton Rouge Regional final on Sunday afternoon. Sierra Romero drove in the game's first two, and ultimately decisive, runs with a double in the top of the third inning to give Michigan the lead it would not relinquish. Sara Driesenga earned her third victory of the regional, scattering just five hits in the complete-game win.

Minnesota Season Ends With 3-0 Loss to Hawaii

Minnesota dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 20 Hawai'i, as it was eliminated from the Seattle Regional to finish its season with a record of 36-19. Minnesota had defeated Portland State, 5-0, earlier in the day, as junior pitcher Sara Moulton threw a complete game one-hitter with 13 strikeouts. Moulton struck out 10 in the loss.

Minnesota Defeats Portland State, 5-0, To Remain Alive in Washington Regional

Minnesota kept its postseason run alive after posting a 5-0 victory over Portland State on Saturday afternoon. The Gophers advance to face Hawaii in an elimination game on Saturday night. Pitcher Sara Moulton allowed just one hit, while the Gophers plated one run in the third and added four runs in the fourth to earn the victory.

Wisconsin Bows Out of NCAA Regional After 3-0 Loss to Oregon

It was a pair of long balls that did the Badgers' season in Saturday afternoon, as No. 3 Oregon hit two home runs to defeat No. 25 Wisconsin 3-0 in the NCAA regional finale at Howe Field in Eugene, Ore. The loss ended the Badgers' season and advanced Oregon to Super Regional action. Wisconsin (44-13) concluded its best season in program history with its first-ever trip to an NCAA regional championship game. The Badgers finished regional play with a 2-2 record, posting the most regional wins in school history.

Huskers Move On To Regional Final With 7-1 Win Over Stanford

The 14th-seeded Nebraska softball team clinched a spot in Sunday's NCAA Lincoln Regional final with a 7-1 victory over Stanford in a winner's bracket matchup Saturday at Bowlin Stadium. Nebraska broke open a 2-1 game with a five-run sixth inning that included four two-out runs. That was more than enough support for Tatum Edwards, who fired a complete-game two-hitter to improve to 28-8 on the year.

Michigan Advances to Regional Final With 5-0 Win Over California

For the second consecutive day, sophomore pitcher Sara Driesenga tossed a complete-game shutout as the No. 7 University of Michigan softball team blanked No. 18-ranked California, 5-0, today in an NCAA Regional game at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field. The Wolverines move into the final day of competition with a 2-0 record in the double-elimination tournament. The righty yielded just five hits over her seven innings of work. She struck out eight batters, the seventh time this season she has set down eight or more in one game.

Wisconsin knocked off North Carolina, 6-2, on Friday night to continue through to the Oregon Regional final on Saturday, where the Badgers will face host and third-seeded Oregon at 3 p.m. ET. The Badgers must defeat the Ducks twice on Saturday to advance through to the Super Regional round. Meghan McIntosh earned the victory in the circle, while the Wisconsin offense took advantage of three Tar Heel errors in the win.

Scoreless through four innings, Tatum Edwards drove in a run in the bottom of the fifth and the Huskers added three more, including a pair off a Brooke Thomason home run, in the sixth to capture a 4-0 victory over Northern Iowa on Friday. Wisconsin Knocks Off BYU, Faces North Carolina

Wisconsin got into the win column after defeating BYU 6-0 on Friday to advance in regional play. The Badgers take on North Carolina Friday night in an elimination contest. The Badgers (43-12) opened scoring with two runs in the top of the second to take an early 2-0 lead over BYU (33-25). Stephanie Peace added to the lead with a three-run home run in the top of the third and Wisconsin plated a run in the top of the fourth to take 6-0 lead.

Minnesota Falls to Hawaii, 3-0, In NCAA Tournament Opener

A three-run rally with two outs in the fifth inning was enough for No. 20/23 Hawai'i to advance with a 3-0 victory against Minnesota in the opening game of the Seattle Regional on Friday afternoon at Husky Softball Stadium. Minnesota junior right-hander Sara Moulton went head-to-head in a pitchers' duel with UH left-hander Kaia Parnaby (38-5), but the fifth proved to be the deciding frame.

NCAA Regional Action Continues for Wisconsin; Michigan, Minnesota and Nebraska Debut on Friday

Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin hit the field in NCAA Tournament play on Friday with the Badgers continuing regional action and the others opening postseason play. Wisconsin looks to keep its tournament run going with a 5 p.m. ET contest against BYU. Michigan and Nebraska host regional play with the Wolverines facing Valparaiso at 7 p.m. and Nebraska taking on Northern Iowa at 8 p.m. Minnesota opens its tournament run against Hawaii at 6:30 p.m.

Badgers Fall in NCAA Tournament Opener

A back and forth affair ended with Wisconsin falling to North Carolina in its opening game of the Oregon Regional on Thursday night, 3-2, in extra innings. Wisconsin lead 1-0 before North Carolina scored the next two runs. The Badgers tied the game to force extra innings, but a Tar Heel run in the top of the eighth proved to be the decisive score.

Wisconsin Opens Regional Play in Oregon Tonight

Wisconsin is the first of four Big Ten teams to begin play in the NCAA Tournament as the Badgers kickoff the postseason with the opening game of the championship on Thursday night. Wisconsin takes on North Carolina at 6 p.m. ET. Michigan, Minnesota and Nebraska begin NCAA competition on Friday, with the Wolverines and Huskers hosting regional action.
