Wisconsin got into the win column after defeating BYU 6-0 on Friday to advance in regional play. The Badgers take on North Carolina Friday night in an elimination contest. The Badgers (43-12) opened scoring with two runs in the top of the second to take an early 2-0 lead over BYU (33-25). Stephanie Peace added to the lead with a three-run home run in the top of the third and Wisconsin plated a run in the top of the fourth to take 6-0 lead.

A three-run rally with two outs in the fifth inning was enough for No. 20/23 Hawai'i to advance with a 3-0 victory against Minnesota in the opening game of the Seattle Regional on Friday afternoon at Husky Softball Stadium. Minnesota junior right-hander Sara Moulton went head-to-head in a pitchers' duel with UH left-hander Kaia Parnaby (38-5), but the fifth proved to be the deciding frame.

A back and forth affair ended with Wisconsin falling to North Carolina in its opening game of the Oregon Regional on Thursday night, 3-2, in extra innings. Wisconsin lead 1-0 before North Carolina scored the next two runs. The Badgers tied the game to force extra innings, but a Tar Heel run in the top of the eighth proved to be the decisive score.
