Hope Howell earns her first career weekly laurel after going 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBI vs. Minnesota on Sunday. The Lithonia, Ga., native batted .538 for the week, connecting seven times in 13 at bats, scoring five runs and knocking in six RBI. Howell ends the regular season ranked fourth on the Illinois all-time batting list. She also ranks sixth in doubles, fifth in triples, 10th in home runs and seventh in RBI in the Illini records book.

Pitcher of the Week
Nikki Nemitz, Michigan

Nikki Nemitz earns her third weekly honor of the season and ninth of her career after striking out seven Hawkeye batters in the season finale on Sunday. The St. Clair Shores, Mich., native allowed only one hit and a pair of walks en route to a complete-game shutout--her sixth of the season. The win improved Nemitz's record to 20-3 on the season. Nemitz becomes the only pitcher in Wolverine program history to earn four straight 20-win seasons.
