Michigan fell to Alabama, 4-3, in Game 2 of the Tuscaloosa Super Regional, ending their season at 42-17 overall. The Wolverines jumped to an early 3-1 lead after two innings, but the Tide scored three unanswered runs to earn the win.

Michigan Begins Super Regional Series Against Alabama on Thursday Night
After earning its eighth regional championship in the last nine years, Michigan advances to the Tuscaloosa Super Regional, beginning on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET, to take on host and No. 2 overall seed Alabama. The best of three series winner will advance as one of eight participants in the 2012 Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. Michigan has faced Alabama 11 times in program history, holding a 7-4 all-time mark.
Wolverines Advance to Super Regionals After 4-0 Win Over Louisville
Michigan scored two in the top of the first inning and never looked back as it recorded a 4-0 victory in Sunday's regional final against Louisville, punching its ticket to the Super Regional round. Pitcher Haylie Wagner won her third game of the postseason, scattering just six hits in knocking off the seeded Cardinals for the second time in two days. Ashley Lane finished with two RBI, while Amanda Chidester and Sara Driesenga each drove in one.

Northwestern saw its season come to an end in the Austin Regional final on Sunday afternoon, falling 5-0. Leadoff hitter Emily Allard had three of the Wildcats six hits in the game.

Michigan notched its second walk-off win in as many days on Saturday, using a Caitlin Blanchard hit-by-pitch to score a 2-1 extra-inning victory over No. 15 seed Louisville to advance to the regional final. In the bottom of the eighth, Michigan loaded the bases with singles by Ashley Lane and Amy Knapp, and a walk from Stephanie Kirkpatrick, Lane came around for the game-winning run on Blanchard's hit-by-pitch.
Wildcats Advance to Regional Final With Saturday Win Over Houston
Northwestern's Marisa Bast and Adrienne Monka each drove in four runs, propelling the Wildcat offense to 13 runs en route to a 13-9 win over Houston Saturday afternoon. Northwestern advances to the regional final on Sunday, where it will need one win to punch its ticket to the Super Regionals. Emily Allard and Mari Majam each scored three runs at the top of the Wildcat lineup, while Amy Letrourneau won her second game of the postseason.
Michigan, Northwestern Continue NCAA Regional Play
Michigan and Northwestern continue their runs in NCAA Regional play this afternoon after each posted victories on Day 1 of their respective regionals. Today, Michigan takes on host Louisville and Northwestern faces Houston in the Austin Regional.
Northwestern Scores 2-0 Win Over No. 6 Texas
Behind Amy Letourneau's complete-game five-hitter, Northwestern scored a 2-0 victory against Texas in the opening game of the Wildcats NCAA Tournament run. Emily Allard singled to start the game, stole second, then came around to score to give Northwestern a 1-0 first-inning lead it would not relinquish. Kristen Scharkey gave NU an insurance run in the fifth.
Michigan Scores Walk-Off Win Over Kentucky
A double by Michigan's Sara Driesenga in the bottom of the seventh scored the game-winning runs in the Wolverines 3-2 come-from-behind win over Kentucky on Friday. After scoring the game's first run in the fourth, Michigan surrendered two in the top of the seventh, giving Kentucky a 2-1 lead, before Driesenga's clutch hit gave Michigan the walk-off win.
Michigan and Northwestern open NCAA Championship action this afternoon with the Wolverines facing Kentucky at 4:30 p.m. ET in the Louisville Regional and the Wildcats taking on Texas at 5 p.m. in the Austin Regional. The double-elimination regional round continues on Saturday with the winners determined on Sunday.
