ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior catcher Tiffany Worthy (Yorba Linda, Calif./Lutheran HS) knocked out her second home run in as many days, launching a three-run shot over the leftfield fence to cap the No. 10-ranked University of Michigan softball team's 6-3 victory over Louisville on Saturday (May 19) in day-two NCAA Regional play in front of 943 fans at Alumni Field. Northwestern 5, Illinois State 2
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior Eileen Canney (Paradise, Calif./Paradise) struck out 14 batters and second-seeded Northwestern came back from an early deficit to defeat Illinois State, 5-2, Saturday afternoon in the winner's bracket of the NCAA Tournament Evanston Regional.

With the win, the Wildcats advance to Sunday's championship game scheduled to begin at noon CT. Northwestern (47-11) will face Illinois State again after the Redbirds eliminated Notre Dame, 3-1, in Saturday's final elimination game. Full Story...

COLUMBUS, Ohio -The Buckeyes took an early 2-0 lead and pitchers Kim Reeder and Jamee Juarez combined to make it stand as Ohio State topped the regional's No. 1 seed and 13th-ranked Virginia Tech, 2-1, Saturday at Buckeye Field in the Columbus regional of the 2007 NCAA Softball Championship.
