ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Freshman third baseman Maggie Viefhaus (Eureka, Mo./Eureka HS) went 2-for-4 at the plate, including a first-inning grand slam, with 5 RBI as the University of Michigan softball team clinched its fourth consecutive NCAA Regional crown with a dominant 7-0 performance against Oregon State on Sunday (May 20) in front of 1,057 fans at Alumni Field. Senior pitcher Lorilyn Wilson (Salem, Ore./Sprague HS) improved her record to 24-6 by permitting just two hits while striking out eight in the complete-game effort.
The Wolverines (46-11) will travel to Waco, Texas, to play No. 8 seed Baylor in a best-of-three NCAA Super Regional next weekend (May 24-26). Specific dates and game times will be announced tonight or Monday (May 21). ESPN will televise each NCAA Super Regional game. The Bears were the Big XII regular season champion this season.

Northwestern 4, Illinois State 1
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Sixth-ranked and second-seeded Northwestern again erased an early deficit Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the NCAA Tournament Evanston Regional, scoring three runs in the top of the fifth to eliminate Illinois State, 4-1, and advance to the Super Regionals for the third-consecutive year.
The Wildcats (48-11) will face South Carolina, the winner of the Charleston, S.C., Regional, next weekend in a best two-of-three Super Regional for the right to go the Women's College World Series. Stay tuned to NUsports.com for game date and time information.

Cal State Fullerton 6, Ohio State 5
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Cal State Fullerton's Jessica Doucette homered twice, including the first grand slam allowed by an Ohio State pitcher since 1999, and the Titans held on to top the Buckeyes, 6-5, Sunday at Buckeye Field and force game seven of the Columbus regional in the 2007 NCAA Softball Championship. Ohio State (40-17) suffers its first home loss this season (21-1) as Fullerton (37-21) avoids elimination.
