Another season, another NCAA Tournament berth for the Michigan Wolverines. Playing in their 17th straight and 18th overall NCAA Tournament, the Maize and Blue emerged from the Ann Arbor Regional with three wins to earn the crown, and the right to advance to the Super Regional. Michigan will play in its sixth straight Super Regional this weekend with a trip to the Women’s College World Series on the line.

The Wolverines will host Tennessee beginning Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET in a best two-of-three format with the winner advancing to the eight-team WCWS, scheduled for June 3-9 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Michigan is seeking its 10th trip to the WCWS in team history. With nine previous trips, U-M ranks among the top-five NCAA DI programs in WCWS appearances.

Last weekend Illinois and Ohio State each fell in the Regional finals to end the 2010 campaign. The Illini finished with a 45-8 record after falling to host Missouri in the Columbia Regional. The Buckeyes dropped the final contest to 11th-seeded California in the Columbus Regional, and closed the campaign with a 39-14 mark.
