Through Tuesday, the Big Ten will highlight each of the 24 student-athletes nominated for the conference's Athlete of the Year awards. Award winners are voted on by a pre-selected media panel and will be announced on Wednesday.

Cassandra Darrah – Wisconsin – Softball
A first-team All-Big Ten selection and a second-team NFCA Great Lakes All-Region honoree, Darrah finished the season with a Wisconsin single-season record .791 winning percentage and 27 victories, second in school history, including the Badgers’ first no-hitter in 12 seasons. The junior led Wisconsin to a school-record 44 wins and its first Big Ten Tournament title, working all 21 innings and recording a 1.67 ERA en route to Big Ten Tournament MVP honors. In the Badgers’ first NCAA appearance in eight years, Darrah was named to the tournament’s All-Region Team after posting a 1.67 ERA with 13 strikeouts. Click HERE for more information on Cassandra.
